“Everything is ready. Please stand up and let us get your veil in place.”

Bai Weijin rose. When the make-up artist finished all the dressing, a chorus of praise came from the crowd.

Bai Weijin looked at herself in the mirror and found a much more attractive self than what she looked like with no cosmetics in the wedding dress store. Now she wore exquisite make-up, beautiful wedding dress, and a pair of stilettos decorated with hundreds of diamonds which appeared indistinctly under the hem.

The maids watched the prospective Mrs. Gu with either envy or jealousy, though they had to admit that this woman was beautiful enough to be called Mrs. Gu.

As soon as all was finished, the doorbell rang.

It was Gu Yeze.

Undoubtedly, no one dared to prevent the bigshot of H city from meeting his bride. Gu Yeze entered the room unimpeded.

When he saw Bai Weijin in the snow-white wedding dress, which he had seen the other day though, Gu Yeze was still captured by her breathtaking beauty.

“You look good.” Gu Yeze flatly gave a compliment.

It was quite rare for him to speak highly of someone, but it actually irritated Bai Weijin. She was awoken as early as four o’clock in the morning to make preparation, only to receive a word of “good”?

How abominable this man was!

Bai Weijin was too annoyed to respond to him, only tidying her veil up before the mirror.

“Mr. and Mrs. Gu, we shall go now, or we may miss the chosen hour.”

Urged by the assistant, they hurriedly picked things up and walked out.

Bai Weijin was helped into the wedding car. Amid the crackling of firecrackers, the car ran off.

“Where are we going?”

Bai Weijin asked the female assistant at her side, for they seemed not to be heading for the hotel.

“Mr. Gu asked to drive around the city, so we are now on the way to the ring road.”

Bai Weijin almost gasped at her words. Gu Yeze’s wedding was as expected a grand occasion, and the whole city knew today’s his wedding day. Wasn’t that enough for him? Why would he make dozens of wedding cars run one after another along the beltway?

‘It’s the morning rush hour now. Is he crazy?’

However, when she figured out why they drove unimpeded in the morning rush hour, Bai Weijin learned that Gu Yeze was more than crazy.

The traffic police directed the flow of vehicles in an orderly fashion and meanwhile opened up a way for their wedding cars.

‘Bai Yinya must be infuriated by the news and could even consider cancelling her own wedding when she watched TV at home,’ Bai Weijin guessed.

Gu Yeze was extraordinarily arrogant. While she thought this way, the car finally stopped by the hotel.

Guests were all seated, and all they needed to do was to wait for the bride and groom to come.

Firecrackers were let off, thunderous to the ears. Bai Weijin looked out of the car window at the hotel.

Laiyin Hotel, a six-star one located in the most prosperous area of the city center, was where her and Gu Yeze’s wedding would take place.

The gateway was packed with hotel staffers who were awaiting the arrival of Gu Yeze and Bai Weijin.

The two gave each other a glance and entered the hotel.

As soon as they came in, Bai Weijin felt there was something wrong with the atmosphere there.

“Why is it so quiet? Did you book the whole hotel?” Bai Weijin lowered her voice and muttered to Gu Yeze.

“Ha.” Gu Yeze chuckled.

“You’ll find it out later.”

Bai Weijin simply couldn’t bear Gu Yeze keeping her guessing all the time, but the occasion, with too many people around, was unsuitable for detailed enquiries. She could do nothing but be ushered by the hotel manager to the backstage.
