After hanging up, Bai Weijin was lost in thought.

It must be Gu Yeze that dealt a severe blow to Yan’s Group. Bai Weijin went out of her office and headed towards Gu Yeze’s.

He was gazing through the window with both hands on the windowsill when she came in.

A trace of a smile played across Gu Yeze’s lips. He took a few steps forward and gave Bai Weijin a big hug, bending over to kiss her.

Bai Weijin helplessly looked at his childish behavior. She had come to talk about business.

When the kiss ended, she was out of breath and finally had a chance to ask him, “What are you gonna do to Yan’s Group?”

Gu Yeze seldom saw her come over, to find that she met him for the sake of Yan Sheng. He was upset and thus decided to punish her with a bite at her lips.

Bai Weijin cried out, “You awful dog!”

Gu Yeze wasn’t annoyed by her words. He kissed her to his heart’s content and spoke unhurriedly, “I’m gonna acquire it.”

Bai Weijin frowned, “Why not just wreck it? Yan’s is no more than a medium-sized company, and its acquisition will be of no benefit to us.”

Gu Yeze snorted, “Because I’ll let the man who had the impertinence to slobber over my wife watch his own stuff being seized.”

What a domineering and childish man! But somehow, Bai Weijin felt a wonderful warm feeling come over her.

She had already guessed Gu Yeze’s plan. What prompted her to go upstairs was nothing but a desire to see him.

Bai Weijin pushed him away, “I’ll go.”

Gu Yeze had no intention of letting her go, fingering her chin and saying, “There’s a lounge in my office.”

Bai Weijin was stunned by the heavy hint he dropped. Due to his exceptional vitality, she hadn’t got much sleep for two days.

Bai Weijin found it difficult to satisfy his extraordinarily high sexual drive. What was more, if she appeared slovenly hours later, what would other colleagues think of her?

“Let go!” Bai Weijin yelled to Gu Yeze and hurried out of his office.

Gu Yeze was amused by her leaving in too much of a hurry. When his assistant knocked on the door, he, however, put on an air of calmness and arrogance.

“President, the chairman of Yan’s Group wanted to see you.”

“I won’t see him.” Gu Yeze flatly rejected it.

“Ok.”

The assistant stepped out when Gu Yeze opened his mouth, “Wait a second, tell him to come in.”

“All right.” Working under Gu Yeze for many years, the man still had little understanding of the President’s disposition, yet he didn’t question the latter’s decisions as usual.

There was a knock at the door.

“Come in.” Gu Yeze’s voice was as cold as ice.

The door was opened. Yan Liwei popped his head in at the door, with a fawning look on his face.

“President Gu.” In contrast with how he behaved towards Bai Weijin yesterday, Yan Liwei bowed and scraped when entering the room.

Gu Yeze stared up at him without uttering any word, which made Yan Liwei so nervous that he was nearly stuck for words.

“I… President Gu, to be honest, I’ve come to intercede for my son.” Yan Liwei trembled with fear.

Gu Yeze made no reply, and Yan Liwei broke out in a sweat.

“Yan Sheng had previously got engaged to Miss Bai, though he married her younger sister in special circumstances. Faced with such a beauty, he might be pardoned for doing something wrong on impulse. Please forgive him for his recklessness.” Yan Liwei’s voice was getting lower and lower when he began to lose confidence.

“So what?”

Yan Liwei was sweating profusely, yet for the sake of Yan’s Group, he brazened it out, “President Gu, you’re a respectable man and won’t waste your time dealing with the likes of us, will you? Please… please let Yan’s Group off.”

Gu Yeze coldly looked at Yan Liwei as if the latter was a piece of trash.

He saw with his own eyes Yan Sheng in bed with Bai Yinya, which filled Bai Weijin with disgust. Yan Liwei had the cheek to say they got married in special circumstances.

Gu Yeze listened to Yan Liwei rattle on and spat out, “What if I won’t?”

“I…” His words embarrassed Yan Liwei whose eyes were full of hate.

Yan Liwei begged Gu Yeze so humbly, while the latter didn’t spare his feelings at all.

“So what am I gonna do before you let Yan’s Group off?” Yan Liwei felt he was stripped of all dignity at the moment.

“What can you do? I’m afraid you cannot afford to bear it. The only way of venting my spleen is to bring ruin upon your family. What do you think of it?” Gu Yeze reclined in the chair and looked squarely into Yan Liwei’s eyes.

Yan Liwei clenched his fists.

“How about selling one fourth of Yan’s Group’s stocks to you?”

It was the largest concession Yan Liwei could grant: making Gu Yeze the second most influential shareholder of Yan’s Group by letting him have one fourth of the shares.

Despite that, he retained the ownership of the company. To that end, Yan Liwei was ready to risk everything.

Gu Yeze had a clear picture in his mind of Yan Liwei’s wishful thinking. In this way, Yan family remained the biggest shareholder of Yan’s Group, which, therefore, would be under the protection of Gu’s Group.

How naïve he was!

Gu Yeze poured scorn on his suggestion, “I have no interest in the acquisition of your company.”

Yan Liwei’s eyes lit up. Did it mean Gu Yeze would let Yan’s Group off?

What Gu Yeze added, however, came as a bolt from the blue, “I simply want Yan’s Group to disappear from H City.”

Deeply shocked by his words, Yan Liwei almost fell on the ground. A series of severe blows threw him into the depths of despair.

Gu Yeze was unmoved by his depression, “Luo Nan.”

The assistant appeared at the door immediately and received an order from Gu Yeze, “Kick him out of the company.”

Speechless and desperate, Yan Liwei was thrown out of Gu’s Group by several bodyguards.

Yan Liwei gave Yan Sheng a slap on the cheek.

There were red fingermarks on the face of Yan Sheng who hadn’t recovered from the injuries caused by Gu Yeze’s bodyguards.

“You bloody fool! Now Yan’s Group is in an awful predicament. Are you satisfied?”

Person of disreputable character as Yan Sheng was, he learnt how to make a show of humility from an early age, and Yan Liwei rarely got angry with him. Now he was stunned by the slap, “Dad?”

“How come I have a son like you!” Yan Liwei fumed. Gu Yeze’s word was his bond. On thinking that the fruit of Yan family’s painstaking work was to be wiped out, Yan Liwei was even dying to kill this unfilial son.

Yan Sheng covered his face with his hands. He came to realize that he had bearded the lion in his den and dared not say more.

While they were caught in a deadlock, Yan Liwei’s phone rang. It was Bai Hongbo calling.

Yan Liwei was in no mood to mix with his son’s parent-in-law now and disconnected the phone, while Bai Hongbo made phone calls again and again.

After some hesitation, Yan Liwei impatiently picked up the phone, “Hello!”
