Ch64 - (II). Possessiveness

Thanks to Yan Chen’s intervention, the video controversy was quickly suppressed outside.

But among their traveling companions, no one was willing to let go of such a perfect opportunity to tease Rong Jun.

He had always been meticulous, precise, giving off the impression that he lived in a world far removed from ordinary people.

After this incident, that carefully maintained image shattered. To them, Rong Jun was no longer untouchable, just another person who could embarrass himself like anyone else.

Over the past few days, Rong Jun had gradually grown accustomed to their teasing.

“Isn’t this Rong Jun trying to woo Yan Chen?”

“You two are such a perfect match!”

At first, he resisted, but eventually, he became numb to it. Sometimes, he even snapped back:

“He’s my boyfriend, what’s wrong with showing him off?!”

Of course, the moment the words left his mouth, his face would burn bright red. He’d lower his head, dizzy from the heat rushing to his cheeks. Yan Chen would then pull him into his arms protectively and say, “Don’t bully him.”

Which only triggered another round of laughter.

“Ooooh—”

“If you’re shy, why show off?”

“Look at him, acting tough, then hiding in his boyfriend’s arms!”

Rong Jun wanted to push Yan Chen away, but the moment his face was exposed, he felt overwhelmingly insecure. His carefully built image had crumbled, leaving him on the verge of tears.

Still, everyone had a sense of moderation. They didn’t dwell endlessly on the same joke.

As Rong Jun grew closer to the group, conversations naturally became more varied.

Even quiet Yan Chen occasionally joined in. Gradually, everyone’s impressions of each other became more complete and genuine.

…

With only one night left of the trip, Rong Jun, once too reserved to fully relax around others, unexpectedly agreed to join everyone for an open-air hot spring.

He had spent the entire trip skiing, sightseeing, eating, and playing games but had yet to enjoy the hot springs.

“Yan Chen, what are you doing?!”

Yan Chen didn’t answer. He simply leaned down and kissed him.

“Mm—let go! Yan Chen, stop—!”

The sudden intensity and silence made Rong Jun uneasy, and he struggled instinctively.

But just as he braced for something more forceful, Yan Chen released his hands. Instead, he lowered his head, and began leaving unmistakable marks along Rong Jun’s skin.

Rong Jun froze.

At first he was startled, then he was confused, until he realized the situation.

He looked down at himself, to his chest, shoulders, now completely covered in obvious love marks.

“You—!”

For a moment, he was so angry he didn’t know what to say. The sheer audacity of it was almost impressive that it left him speechless.

In the end, he gave up resisting, lying flat as Yan Chen continued his “work,” leaving marks in all visible and hidden places before finally pulling back to admire the result of his art with quiet satisfaction.

Rong Jun turned away, fuming silently. He got dressed, then he laid down, closed his eyes, and refused to acknowledge his presence.

Yan Chen hesitated, but shamelessly moved closer, wrapping his arms around him.

As expected, he was met with a sharp elbow to the abdomen.

It actually hurt, Rong Jun can give one hell of an elbow.

“You’re so petty!” Rong Jun snapped, though he didn’t move away. “I finally came all this way and didn’t even get to enjoy the hot springs. How are you going to make it up to me?”

“I’ll go with you later,” Yan Chen said. “When no one else is around.”

Rong Jun wanted to stay annoyed but his resolve wavered. In the end, he simply turned his back and huffed.

…

After eleven that night, Yan Chen took Rong Jun to the hot spring.

As expected, the place was completely empty.

The night air was cold.

When Rong Jun took off his robe, he shivered slightly before stepping quickly into the water. The warmth wrapped around him instantly, and he leaned back against the smooth stones with a satisfied sigh.

Mist rose from the surface, drifting through the air and obscuring the surroundings.

Because the mist was heavy, one plainly won’t be able to see the area, but Rong Jun didn’t pay much attention to it anyway, all he wanted was to relax and that is what he will do.

Because of this, he didn’t notice the shadow slipping quietly into the water.

His body gradually relaxed, his eyes half-closed as the heat soothed him—until suddenly—

The only layer of clothing he had left was tugged away.

Startled, he snapped his eyes open.

A dark figure surged up from the water in front of him, splashing him completely.

Rong Jun wiped his face in annoyance. And as expected, it was none other than Yan Chen, who was now soaking along with him.

Before he could speak, Yan Chen splashed his hand sending another wave of water straight at him.

“….” Rong Jun wiped his face again, glaring at him. Seeing Yan Chen’s smug, open-mouthed expression, he lunged at him without hesitation.

Yan Chen was caught off guard by this and he stumbled backward into the water, but quickly recovered, retaliating as well.

They splashed and grappled, back and forth, laughing together.

Rong Jun was smaller and less strong, so he quickly grew exhausted. Panting, he pressed a hand against the wolf’s head.

“Stop—stop, I’m done…”

Finally, Yan Chen settled down, he moved closer and rested against him. The wet fur, chilled by the night air, made Rong Jun shiver slightly.

Yan Chen shifted back into human form and pulled him into his arms, both sinking deeper into the warm water.

“Are you still cold?”

Rong Jun shook his head, leaning comfortably against him.

“It’s so quiet here…”

“Isn’t that better?” Yan Chen said softly. “Just the two of us.”

His hand moved to Rong Jun’s damp hair, gently smoothing it, worried he might get cold.

“Aren’t you a bit too possessive?” Rong Jun murmured, resting against his chest. “You don’t have to control everything.”

Yan Chen stiffened slightly. His arms tightened, pulling Rong Jun closer, drawing an unspoken boundary around him.

Rong Jun sighed softly at his reaction.

“What am I supposed to do with you…”

He knew Yan Chen wouldn’t change overnight.

But there was still a long road ahead. And perhaps, if he gave him enough reassurance, Yan Chen wouldn’t feel the need to hold on so tightly.
