Dozens of hunters surrounded Yin Xuege, dragging and pulling him to the door of the tavern.

High in the sky, the giant airship reflected sunlight directly down, casting a blinding white light outside the tavern’s threshold, while inside it was dimly lit. As Yin Xuege looked at the glaring sunlight outside the door, his body involuntarily trembled.

Sunlight, the nemesis of all blood demons. Unless one reached the strength of the Yin family’s ancestor, they could not walk in the sun without fear. Other blood demons, even those as powerful as Yin Jihuang and Yin Jiwu, would still turn to ashes when exposed to sunlight.

As for Yin Xuege, this young and tender child, even a single ray of ordinary morning light would cause him immense harm! The teachings in the Child Hall repeatedly emphasized—children must never touch sunlight!

Yin Xuege wanted to struggle, but several hunters, far stronger than him, held him tightly.

He wanted to roar and curse, but the unknown curse card used by the spellcaster sealed his body, leaving him unable to speak a word except for breathing. He could only widen his eyes in fear as the hunters dragged him step by step toward the sunlight.

"Power! Power!" Yin Xuege shouted in his heart once again. Every time he was severely injured in the Child Hall and lay in his small building licking his wounds, he would desperately wish for great power!

And today, facing a desperate situation, he yearned for overwhelming power even more! If he had enough strength, he would certainly kill all the hunters present and drink their blood dry!

Outside the tavern, Little Jie, his body charred, lay on the ground, his cloudy eyes staring blankly at the sky. Fenice sneered disdainfully, her small foot pressing on Little Jie’s face, grinding his head forcefully.

"Fool, you who have willingly fallen, continue to resist? Continue to struggle? You actually dared to attack me?"

She stomped on Little Jie’s head repeatedly, her excitement growing. "Beg me, beg me! Beg me to spare you, to take you as a servant, to grant you power, to give you a glorious future! Kneel and beg me, beg me! Miss Fenice is very generous, very magnanimous, and very willing to help!"

Little Jie slowly turned his head and spat a mouthful of saliva onto Fenice’s shiny boots.

"Bitch! Give me half a loaf of bread, let me sleep for one night!"

Fenice’s beautiful face turned bright red with anger. She stared wide-eyed and kicked Little Jie hysterically. Although she controlled powerful fire, her physical strength was not much stronger than an ordinary person. In her wild kicking, she accidentally used the wrong force, and everyone nearby heard a crack from her ankle—she had twisted her foot!

Falling awkwardly to the ground, Fenice screamed hysterically, "Tie him up, throw him into the Blood Prison! These willingly fallen scoundrels, throw him into the Blood Prison! Punish him well, don’t let him off easily!"

Several hunters pounced, quickly tying Little Jie with special metal ropes and dragging him into a flying car. Little Jie glared fiercely at Fenice, cursing and spewing all kinds of obscenities.

Inside the tavern, Yin Xuege saw Old Jack, bound like a dumpling, lying on the ground, and Little Jie, who had been thrown into the flying car. Yin Xuege panted heavily, his eyes darting around, trying to find the two Yin clan warriors who had accompanied him into the Great Berlin city-state. But they were nowhere to be seen, having vanished like ghosts in the night.

With a 'thud,' a sharp pain came, and Yin Xuege was thrown to the ground. He landed just inside the tavern’s threshold, less than half a foot away from the intense light gathered by the airship’s large mirror.

A young man in a white robe squatted beside Yin Xuege, pulling his long hair forcefully. He placed a silver cross in front of Yin Xuege and said coldly, word by word, "Repent for your sins, filthy, dirty vampire! Even if you are just a child, you belong to a race that should be destroyed, so you are a sinner!"

He chuckled a few times, his face contorting, and he leaned close to Yin Xuege’s ear, cursing with deep resentment.

"My father, mother, my sister, and my brother, they are all dead, drained of their last drop of blood. It was your people who did this! So I swear to the god I believe in, I swear to the supreme being who granted me noble blood, I will destroy your damned race!"

Yin Xuege’s scalp ached as the white-robed youth pulled his hair, making it feel as if it was being stretched.

In the next moment, Yin Xuege saw the ground rushing toward him, and then a sharp pain came from his nose as the white-robed youth grabbed his hair and slammed his head into the ground. Again and again, with each heavy impact, Yin Xuege’s nose broke, his forehead became a bloody mess, and drops of blood trickled down his face.

But all the blood gathered near his chin, and just as it was about to drip, it flowed back into his wounds as if it had a life of its own. The broken nasal bone quickly healed, and the wounds on his forehead, which had split open, recovered in a few breaths.

"A damned vampire!" The white-robed youth trembled with excitement. "Yes, you are a damned vampire! Tell me, why did you come to the Great Berlin city-state? At your age, you are just a child, you should be under the protection of your family, why did you leave your family’s territory? Tell me, why?"

Yin Xuege glared at the white-robed youth in anger, wanting to tell him that he was just carrying out a reconnaissance mission forcibly assigned by the External Affairs Hall! He was only there to retrieve the intelligence collected by the Yin clan’s spies in the Great Berlin city-state, and he had not been tasked with any destructive mission!

But the curse card on his chest emitted a faint black light, sealing all his bodily functions. He couldn’t even speak, and even if he wanted to tell the white-robed youth something, even if he wanted to confess everything, he couldn’t!

The white-robed youth noticed Yin Xuege’s flickering gaze and realized his predicament. He laughed triumphantly, delighted and elated. In his laughter, he grabbed Yin Xuege’s head and slammed his face into the tavern’s threshold.

"Such a stubborn kid! I didn’t expect a vampire to be as tough as you! Ah, cunning and sinister vampires, they are never as tough as you! So, I should treat you well, shouldn’t I?"

"Remember my name, I am Bright, the one who has sworn to destroy all vampires!"

Laughing a few times, Bright slammed Yin Xuege’s bloodied head into the threshold and then grabbed his right hand, forcing his palm into the blinding sunlight.

Yin Xuege’s body shuddered violently, and Bright, Sandel, and Fenice laughed happily.

But in the next moment, Yin Xuege stared blankly at his palm, which showed no change in the sunlight. The smiles on Bright, Sandel, and Fenice’s faces froze, and they looked at each other in confusion, their eyes filled with bewilderment and shock.

The hunters and security officers nearby gasped in surprise, and some stepped back in confusion.

Yin Xuege’s pale, tender palm was exposed to the sunlight, showing no change. He stared at his palm, feeling the warmth of the sun, a warm sensation that flowed through his body, making him feel incredibly comfortable.

An unprecedented feeling! Yin Xuege, who had never seen sunlight, had never known that sunlight could be so warm!

Unlike the moon, which brought him an intense cold, the cold air in the moonlight would freeze his internal organs, forcing him to drink the blood of pitiful blood slaves to dispel the deadly cold. But the warmth of the sunlight was so comforting, and Yin Xuege even felt his blood flowing faster!

For eleven years, his internal organs, soaked in cold and dark energy, were like seeds buried deep in frozen soil, now nourished by the warmth of the sun. His organs began to move slowly, and a miraculous vitality sprang to life within him.

His pale, nearly transparent face gradually gained a hint of color, and the faint blue veins under his pale skin became visible. Yin Xuege felt very comfortable, as if a ray of sunlight had illuminated an ancient tomb ruled by darkness for ten thousand years, and his soul felt a blissful joy under the sun’s cleansing.

Even the suppression from the curse card weakened, and the energy around his throat flowed freely. He took a deep breath and murmured to himself, entranced, "So comfortable! This is sunlight? So warm!"

The word 'warm' was unfamiliar to Yin Xuege! His body had never felt such a sensation!

The Yin clan’s city-state was dark and cold, a place where sunlight never shone, and small buildings where no fire was ever lit, soaked in the cold energy emitted by countless Yin clan members, making everyone as cold as ice! The word 'warm' was equally unfamiliar to all Yin clan members.

The warm energy flowed from his palm through his body, and the jade cicada hanging from his chest absorbed this warmth, feeding back a continuous, though not very powerful, but extremely resilient and rich warmth into Yin Xuege’s body. It flowed from his heart down to his lower abdomen, penetrating various key acupoints and energy channels, and directly into his dantian.

In the dantian, ruled by cold and dark blood energy for eleven years, a spark of innate vitality burst forth, a warm and pure innate yang energy surged straight up, instantly traversing twelve levels, flowing through the eight extraordinary meridians, and nourishing his limbs and bones. Yin Xuege’s entire body was filled with warmth, and even a fine layer of sweat appeared on his forehead.

For blood demons, who were born with innate yin energy, sweating was as impossible as a stone blooming or an iron stake sprouting. But this impossible thing happened to Yin Xuege.

"Impossible!" Bright suddenly screamed hysterically. Why didn’t Yin Xuege’s hand burn in the sunlight? According to the rules, Yin Xuege’s hand should have quickly withered and turned black, emitting a lot of black smoke and foul odor, and burned to ashes within a few breaths, causing him immense pain!

Why did his hand show no change, and why did he look so comfortable?

"You are just a filthy, lowly child!" Bright grabbed Yin Xuege’s long hair, dragged him out of the tavern, and threw his entire body into the blinding, scorching sunlight.

Yin Xuege lay on the ground, his eyes closed, quietly feeling the warmth of the sun and the abundant life force it carried. His body trembled gently, and every cell in his body rejoiced, as new life sprang within him. He could feel his dantian absorbing some extremely mysterious energy from the sun!

From his skin to his muscles, from his blood to his organs, from his bones to his bone marrow, all the cold and dark energy accumulated in Yin Xuege’s body for eleven years was quietly integrated by the warmth of the sun. The blood demon blood in his heart did not increase, but his physical strength continued to grow. In just a few breaths, his physical strength had increased by about ten percent.

Stronger, faster, more agile, and more flexible! And Yin Xuege could feel that his body’s recovery ability had also been enhanced, about ten percent stronger than before.

"Damn it, this can’t be!" Bright roared in anger, snatching a long knife from a hunter and slashing it heavily on Yin Xuege’s thigh.

Yin Xuege cried out in pain. Bright’s slash was extremely vicious, splitting his thigh bone into two pieces, and he even stabbed the tip of the knife into Yin Xuege’s leg bone, stirring his bone marrow and nerves.

The pain surged into his mind, and Yin Xuege screamed in agony. This was not the injury from the practical classes in the Child Hall, but a form of torture, a deliberate torment, a deliberate attempt to make Yin Xuege suffer more!

Fenice, equally bewildered, widened her eyes, flicked her finger, and a thumb-thick flame shot out, burning fiercely on the wound in Yin Xuege’s thigh. The fire burned his flesh with a sizzling sound, and dozens of thin flames drilled into his bone marrow, burning the most sensitive parts of his body.

Yin Xuege’s vision went black, and his body convulsed violently, even bouncing off the ground by more than a foot.

The nearby hunters and security officers were indifferent to Yin Xuege’s screams, only marveling at him, whispering to each other, and betting on how long he could endure.

The flame burned on Yin Xuege’s wound for a full fifteen minutes before it extinguished. When the flame disappeared, the charred wound on Yin Xuege’s body began to move slowly. Bones, muscles, nerves, and blood vessels began to reattach.

"Where is the potion we found?" Bright shouted.

A black-robed spellcaster hurriedly pulled out a bottle of the essence blood potion Yin Xuege had brought, and Bright snatched it, pouring the thick blood into Yin Xuege’s mouth. Yin Xuege’s wound healed visibly, and in just a few minutes, the charred wound had completely recovered, leaving no trace on his pale, smooth skin.

"He is a damned little vampire!" Bright, holding the cross, raved like a madman.

"But who can tell me why he is not afraid of sunlight? Who can tell me! Why is he not afraid of sunlight?"

No one could answer Bright’s question, not even Yin Xuege himself knew the reason, let alone others. Sandel, standing nearby, innocently spread his hands, indicating that he could not help Bright with this question.

Yin Xuege slowly opened his eyes. The torture had made him remember Bright and Fenice clearly. He glanced at the frenzied Bright, then at the giant airship reflecting the blinding light in the sky, and then laughed dryly.

The power of the curse card had been weakened by the warmth of the sun, and Yin Xuege could barely speak. "I didn’t burn in the sun, I am not a vampire, am I? You, caught the wrong person!"

"Caught the wrong person?" Bright tilted his head, looking at Yin Xuege, and laughed strangely, then kicked him hard in the temple. Yin Xuege felt his head jolt, his vision went black, and he fell into unconsciousness.

"How could I have caught the wrong person? You are a damned, lowly vampire!" Bright looked up at the sky, pondering, and said word by word, "A vampire not afraid of sunlight? I seem to remember reading about this in some ancient text."

After a moment of silence, Bright moved the silver cross in his hand forcefully.

"Lock this damned, strange child in the deepest level of the Blood Prison and guard him strictly. Don’t be careless, if he escapes, you will all pay with your lives!" Annoyed, he stomped his foot and called to Sandel, "Sandel, come with me to see the Grand Governor, perhaps he knows something."

Sandel made a reluctant face and sighed heavily, "I’m afraid to see that old man, I’m telling the truth!"

The Captain Jack’s Tavern was sealed, and countless guards and spies were posted around it.

The unconscious Yin Xuege was thrown into a flying car, and dozens of flying cars took off in succession, heading toward the core area of the Great Berlin city-state.
