Chapter 8

When Cen Sen was first recalled to Junyi’s headquarters from Huazhang Holdings, he was persistent in launching a decision that evoked enormous skepticism.

The man wasn’t able to show them substantial results quickly enough. Only a few in the company supported the project Cen Sen suggested, resulting in slow advancement with the higher-ups.

But he persisted in pushing on the advancement despite the inferiority of his position. With his thunder-like means, he was finally able to continue with the project.

After the completion of the hotel, Cen Sen should’ve continued to achieve further after this successful launch, but he suddenly wanted to go to Junyi’s foreign subsidiary; no one understood what he was thinking.

Two years passed with the blink of an eye. In recent times, when mentioning spa hotels, everyone would automatically link it to Junyi’s Water and Clouds.

By building such a secure brand positioning in consumers’ minds, this was indeed a silent yet the most powerful recognition.

Everyone’s curiosity was evoked when Cen Sen returned without any notice this time, and they had been commenting relentlessly since last night.

Ji Mingshu’s phone was also bombarded by messages. In her Wechat, the red notification badges were scattered everywhere. She knew exactly what they were trying to say just by skimming through the message previews; they were trying to fish out of her the information regarding Cen Sen’s return.

Ku Kaiyang was one of those who didn’t inquire about what Cen Sen was up to, but she sent a voice message to tease Ji Mingshu:

“Still haven’t gotten up from bed?”

“Wow, Executive Cen is so formidable.”

Ji Mingshu only pressed to hear the first sentence, but the next one played automatically before she could react.

She attempted to stop the voice message from playing subconsciously, but her hands were not fast enough. The message finished playing just as she placed her fingers on the phone, and the message repeated itself.

With the dead silence in the room, the faint electric buzz, and the teasing message repeated twice, it seemed like the receiver of the message was confirming what was being said with disgruntled amusement.

Ji Mingshu pricked her ears up with tension.

Behind her, the previously even breathing had stopped.

She stayed still for a second, then hid her phone under the pillow in slow motion, her body stiff, and curled her toes subconsciously.

Cen Sen was already awake.

He laid on the left side of the bed and watched Ji Mingshu’s petite and straightened backside without a word.

After a while, he pushed the blanket aside and got up.

As Ji Mingshu heard the nearing footsteps, she shut her eyes immediately, but her eyelashes were flashing uncontrollably.

Very soon, the sound of the footsteps approached her. She couldn’t help to hold her breath. Within the few seconds left, she started to simulate various tones that she would use against him inside her head.

Five seconds.

Ten seconds.

Thirty seconds.

The footsteps grew distant. Only when the sound of water sounded from the bathroom did Ji Mingshu realize that Cen Sen was too lazy to expose her sleeping tricks.

For some reason, the young woman felt a bit sulky. She stared in the direction of the bathroom for a few seconds and then suddenly pulled her blanket away and forcefully leaned against the top of the bed, using a great force as if she was projecting her anger onto the bed.

Seeing the pile of paperwork on Cen Sen’s nightstand, she leaned forward and stretched her arm before finally getting the files with a struggle.

<<Junyi Corporation’s Hotel Design Development Proposal>>

Ji Mingshu solely took those files to let out her anger, but once she saw the title on the cover, the expression in her eyes changed subtly.

When Cen Sen got out of the shower, he saw her reading through the documents seriously while leaning against the bed.

Her legs appeared long and straight as she sat in a position where they were fully stretched out with one on top of the other. The paleness of her legs was even more dazzling to the eye as they were revealed at the end of Ji Mingshu’s nightdress that was irregularly swirled due to last night’s activity.

She noticed his presence, but she didn’t want to move her eyes away from the document. “Junyi is going to construct a designer’s hotel?” she asked while reading.

“Yeah,” Cen Sen answered while lifting his chin to button his collar.

Ji Mingshu remained silent as she continued to flip the pages.
